How to take your pet into Turkey for a temporary period, 16.03.2017

It is allowed to take in total 2 pets or 10 aquarium fish per person into Turkey for a temporary period. Pets for entry are classified as cat, dog, aquarium fish and bird; and other animals are not allowed into the country.

Pitbull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro and same species of the aforementioned animals are forbidden.

The following certificates should be filled and legalized by an official veterinarian along with your pet's passport.

1. A rabies vaccination certificate, which must be issued not later than fifteen days prior to the entry.

2. A "United States Interstate and International Certificate of Health Examination for Small Animals" (aka. Form 7001)

3. Veterinary Certificate (Encl.)

If above documents are given by an accredited veterinarian OR approved by the local authorities  accepted by Turkish authorities, it is not necessary the documents to be legalized by the Turkish missions.

Please make sure that your pet has a microchip (for birds, identification rings around the foot)
