i am not trying to be difficult, or overly critical. believe me i am not ! i am standing outside of our new consulate 825 3rd avenue and was told to wait outside when i attempted to sit / squad on the floor. i and my 80 year old father have been here since 10. am this morning and we are tired. since the office closes for lunch we had no choice but to leave however our request for passport was pending since 10 due to system malfunction. although this is noone s fault hanimg of our citizens in our own doorstep is far away than hospitable . shame on you consulate staff for having some wait outside in the heat, some in -not sure why they are allowed- and the inconsideration you displayed

dear sir/ maam, greetings !! i am planning to reserve a ticket from jfk(new york, usa) to mumbai(india) via turkish airlines. i am currently on an h1-b visa and am going to india for the visa stamping process. i noticed that the flight makes a stop over at istanbul in turkey. could you please let me know if i would need an additional visa/transit visa while waiting at the airport to board the flight to mumbai? i am aware that certain cities like heathrow do not allow customers with a non-stamped visa to enter the country. i would just like to be sure that there is no such restriction in turkey before booking my ticket. awaiting your reply. thanks & regards, harold moniz

Dear S, I attached the application form and requirement list. You don’t have to make an appointment and come Monday through Friday during our business hours between 2.30 and 4.30. The fee is 60$ for single entry. Please read the requirement list. The Visa process is within 5 days. Your passport has to be valid at least 6 months. Also, US passport holders can get their tourist visas at the airport on arrival. They just need their valid US passport and 20 USD cash per person. They can stay max. 3 months.
